How do you qualify?
The theatre grants are awarded to professional theatres and theatre
companies to improve the facilities available to the professional
performers e.g. new toilets, showers, green room facilities, etc.
or if it is a travelling theatre company it could be to assist with
the purchase of a new van or equipment.
Due to the limited budget available it is less likely for a very
costly new building or rebuild to be assisted.
How do I apply?
The theatre company would have to submit a written request explaining
the reason for the expenditure together with quotations, plans,
etc for the work to be carried out. The last two years’ audited
accounts would also need to be submitted together with a cash flow
projection for the current year of trading.
It is suggested that you speak to the Secretary, Keith
Carter before applying.
How much would we get if we were successful?
Whilst there is no specific limit the general awards normally range
between £2,500 and £5,000. However each case is treated
on its merits.
